Loading contentSocks are the item parents replace most often and think about least, which is backwards, because a sock that will not stay on a baby's foot is simply lost money. Two things decide it. The first is the cuff: it needs enough grip to hold above the ankle without leaving a red band pressed into the leg, which is a balance cheap socks almost never get right. The second is the heel, because a sock with no shaped heel rotates around the foot until it ends up somewhere near the toes. In the UAE there is a third consideration that surprises people, which is that socks get worn indoors far more than outdoors. Marble and tile floors under air conditioning are genuinely cold underfoot, and they are slippery for a child who has just started walking, so a non slip sole is worth more here than warmth is. Cotton rather than synthetic keeps feet from getting sweaty inside shoes in the heat, which also reduces the smell that comes with it. Buy in one colour family so a lost sock does not orphan the whole pair. Delivered across the Emirates with free delivery over AED 200.

Tile and marble under air conditioning are cold and slippery, and that is where UAE children wear socks most. A gripped sole matters more here than thickness or warmth ever will.
Sizing: Socks are sized by shoe size or age band. If your child is between bands, take the larger, since a tight cuff is the usual complaint. See the full size guide.
