Ours are cut from soft organic cotton with a relaxed body and a neck opening wide enough that getting it over a toddler's head is not a daily negotiation. In a climate where a child can go from a car park at 44 degrees to a chilled mall in ninety seconds, a breathable cotton tee is the layer that copes with both, which is why it is also the piece that gets washed most and therefore has to survive the most. We look for prints that hold rather than crack after a dozen cycles, and seams that keep their shape rather than twisting around the body. The graphics on ours lean playful rather than branded, dinosaurs and bears and the occasional slice of pizza, because a child who likes the picture on their shirt puts it on without an argument. What to look for in a tee for the UAE climate
Weight matters more than people expect. A midweight organic cotton jersey breathes in the heat but is not so thin that indoor air conditioning goes straight through it. Avoid heavy polyester blends, which trap heat and leave children sticky within minutes outdoors.
Making prints last
Wash printed tees inside out on a cool cycle and skip the tumble dryer where you can. Most cracked graphics are a heat problem, not a quality one, and in the UAE line drying is quick enough that the dryer is rarely worth it.
