Loading contentOrganic cotton is soft, breathable and kind to little skin, and it rewards a little care. Here is exactly how to wash, dry and de-stain your Dinooz pieces for the UAE's hard water and heat, so colours stay bright and every outfit lasts long enough to pass on.
Air drying is best for organic cotton, and the UAE climate makes it effortless. Dry clothes in the shade or indirect light rather than the harsh midday sun: direct sun fades bright colours and prints fast and can weaken the fibres over a summer. Hang tops by the hem and bottoms by the waistband to keep their shape, and reshape knitwear flat on a towel rather than hanging it. If you use a dryer, choose a low or delicate heat and lift items out while slightly damp to limit shrinkage. In peak humidity, give clothes good airflow so they dry quickly and do not turn musty.
The golden rule is speed and cool water. Rinse a fresh stain from the back of the fabric so you push it out rather than through, then treat it before it sets:
The kindest thing for your clothes and the planet is to wash them less. Air a lightly worn outfit overnight instead of washing it after every short wear; fewer washes means less fading, less wear on the seams and a longer life. Wash a full but not over-packed load so garments move freely, repair a loose button or hem early before it grows, and store clothes clean and fully dry to avoid mildew in the humidity. Cared for this way, a well-made organic cotton piece easily outlasts one child and is ready for the next. You can read more about why we build clothes to be handed down on our sustainability page.
